Match Report: Lancashire Cup Match - Bury U13 "A" v Lytham U13 "A"
With Lytham winning the toss and choosing to bat first, they made a steady start on a difficult wicket. However, after 11 overs, and the loss of some key wickets, the score stood at just 43.
Sam Hall then started to open his shoulders and upped the run rate considerably, with some good running between the wickets, with firstly Harry Duff and then Harry Ashton. Sam Hall retired
on 31, and Harry Ashton hit some quick fire runs to retire on 30. Ralph Dowds came to the wicket to drive the score onto a very respectable 134 after 20 overs.
With Bury unbeaten all season, Lytham knew that a solid bowling and fielding display was going to be required if they were to progress in the competition, and without exception, all the bowlers
excelled on the evening. Notable bowling performances from Andrew Walkden, Ashley Gregson and George Brookes, restricted Bury to just 59 from their allotted 20 overs, leading Lytham to a 75
run victory.
A great team effort, was lead by a great captain’s performance from Nathan White, and Lytham will now face Bolton in the quarter finals of the competition.
Result: Lytham: 134, Bury 59 (20 overs)
