On sunny Friday evening Blackpool U13 entertained Lytham U13 in the Palace Shield completion. After a relatively cautious start Lytham batsman began to cut loose with Sam Hall, Harry Ashton and Harry Duff all scoring 30 runs each in quick time. Lytham continued to score quickly with good contributions from all their batsmen, typified by a quick fire 27 from Jason McGreehan which resulted in Lytham scoring 199 runs for the loss of only3 wickets off their 20 overs.
 
In reply Blackpool displayed dogged determination and made Lytham work hard in the field with a fine 28 not out from Blackpool captain ‘Nanie’ Kiraparam which allow Blackpool to reach a score of 69 for 4 of their 20 overs with the pick of the Lytham bowlers being Aussie leg spinner Frazier McClaren.
