Garstang won the toss and decided to bat on green wicket .Lytham
bowled extremely
tightly in the opening overs with Emilio Arcineaga bowling particularly well
supported
by some keen Lytham fielding. Having restricted Garstang to 30 runs in the first
eight
overs, Lythams inspirational captain Richard Ingham introduced Elliott Dalgleish
and
Jason McGreehan into the bowling attack who ripped through Garstangs upper
batting
order and exploited the conditions fully .
Elliott Dalgleish finnished his spell with figures of a 5wickets for 8 runs and
Jason
McGreehan bowled tidily for figures of 1 wicket for 6 runs.
Garstang were eventually dismissed for 67runs with Wesley Crowther picking up
two
late cheap wickets , one of which was a attributable to a first class piece of
wicket
keeping by Harry Duff, .
In reply to Garstangs total of 67 runs Lytham started cautiously but lost early
wickets
to the keen Garstang bowling attack and Lytham found themselves in trouble with
5 wickets
down with only 30 runs on the board. However the swashbuckling Jordan
Greenwood(28 not out)
and the dependable Richard Ingham(11 not out) guided Lytham to victory with 5
wickets to spare.
