Match Report : U13 "C" v Leyland & Farrington                                      

 

Lytham U13 continued their fine run of results by notching up a 4th consecutive victory when beating Leyland and Farrington in the Palace Shield by 8 wickets on Thursday 29th June.

On a glorious sunny evening Leyland won the toss and decided to bat.  Tight early bowling, backed up by some  keen fielding by Lytham restricted Leyland to just 7 runs from the first 8 overs.   From then on Leyland found it extremely difficult to force the pace and was eventually restricted to a modest total of 65 runs from their allocated 20 overs.   Tom Nye bowled particularly well and ended up with 2 wickets.

In response Lytham started solidly with Jacob Reid and Sam Bradshaw putting on 29 runs for the first wicket. The second wicket fell with 43 runs on the board  and  Lytham completed the task of knocking off the required runs without loosing any further wickets.   Jacob Reid finished the game 30 not out and Elliott Dalgleish 20 not out.
