Match Report : U13 "C" v Leyland & Farrington
Lytham U13 continued their fine run of results by notching up a 4th
consecutive victory when beating Leyland and Farrington in the Palace
Shield by 8 wickets on Thursday 29th June.
On a
glorious sunny evening Leyland won the toss and decided to bat. Tight
early bowling, backed up by some keen
fielding by Lytham restricted Leyland to just 7 runs from the first 8
overs. From then on Leyland found it extremely difficult to force the
pace and was eventually restricted to a modest total of 65 runs from
their allocated 20 overs. Tom Nye bowled particularly well and ended
up with 2 wickets.
In
response Lytham started solidly with Jacob Reid and Sam Bradshaw putting
on 29 runs for the first wicket. The second wicket fell with 43 runs on
the board and Lytham completed the task of knocking off the required
runs without loosing any further wickets. Jacob Reid finished the game
30 not out and Elliott Dalgleish 20 not out.
