Zoning for 3rd & 4th X1 in 2009

At the Liverpool & District AGM, it was agreed that from season 2009, there would be an introduction of zoning in order to reduce travel.

The Sunday 3rd X1 league would retain a Premier Division, with 2 additional regional divisions based on a North South split being created. This would reduce travel time for the zoned clubs. There would still be the option of promotion to the Premier division from these regionalised divisions, if the winning club so wished, but this would not be compulsory.

This new arrangement allows clubs which field juniors in their 3rd & 4th X1s to recuce travelling times & return home at an earlier hour. This is particularly welcome with Monday being a school day.

The two Saturday 3rd X1 leagues are unaffected by the above decision which concerns Sunday teams only.
